IVC develops outdoor surveillance cameras for use with Wi-Fi Mesh networks
Industrial Video & Control Co. (IVC) recently integrated PePWave 802.11b/g radios into select cameras from its outdoor surveillance line, making them Wi-Fi Mesh compatible. This allows the cameras to be placed 800 to 1600 feet from a wireless access point. The added flexibility makes the new IVC outdoor cameras suitable for temporary surveillance deployments, and installations where wiring simply isn't available or convenient.
The PePWave Wi-Fi radio used in IVC's wireless outdoor cameras has been tested for interoperability with today's most commonly used mesh networks. Wireless operation cuts down on installation costs, while adding convenience and portability. IVC foresees its wireless outdoor camera line as a cost-effective solution for temporary surveillance applications requiring quick setup, for instance large public events, and for the demanding outdoor surveillance needs of cities and towns wishing to better monitor high-crime areas.
