Axis introduces 211M Network Camera with megapixel resolution
Megapixel cameras are reshaping the way we think about video surveillance footage. The grainy images commonly associated with old analog systems are becoming a thing of the past thanks to an influx of network cameras which utilize megapixel technology.
Axis Communications, a leader in network video surveillance, recently unveiled its latest megapixel device, the Axis 211M Network Camera. The 211M utilizes megapixel resolution in MPEG-4 and Motion JPEG streams allowing for outstanding image detail. The heightened image quality is extremely helpful for clearly identifying individuals and intricate details. The added resolution also allows the camera to monitor scenes up to three times as large as those viewable with a traditional CCTV camera.
The 211M is especially suitable for professional surveillance applications such as those required in banks, retail stores, government facilities, schools and universities, and transportation systems.
By simultaneously delivering Motion JPEG and MPEG-4 video streams in megapixel resolution, the camera preserves high image quality while conserving bandwidth. The megapixel sensor utilizes progressive scan to cut down on blur, while the lens features DC-iris for improved depth of field and sensor protection. Additional features in the 211M include Power over Ethernet support and two-way audio.
The Axis 211M also offers unique security features such as HTTPS encryption, port-based authentication capabilities, multiple user access levels, and IP address filtering.
